OTHER LITERATURES IN ENGLISH

The Other Literatures in English section is comprised of titles appropriate for the study of literature in English outside the usual rubric of British Literature and/or American Literature. It includes Canadian, Indian, African, Caribbean, Australian, New Zealand, and other literatures. For each of the several national literatures represented in this section, titles have been selected in a balance of primary and secondary works that represent the various major genres of poetry, drama, short fiction, and the novel; the traditionally defined literary periods, with particular attention to colonial and post-colonial distinctions; and contemporary subdisciplinary fields that were not covered in BCL3, such as queer studies.
