Browse By RCL Subject

To Browse by RCL subject classification, click the RCL Subject link in the “Browse by…” box in the upper-right of the RCL home page, or click the Browse button in the header bar of any RCL page, and then click the RCL Subject link in the “Browse by…” page.

In either case, you will reach the RCL Subject Browse page, which displays the individual subject areas in which selections have been made for RCL.   Here you may use the links to drill down through the RCL classification structure (e.g., “EUROPEAN HISTORY,” “EUROPEAN HISTORY > Russia,” or “EUROPEAN HISTORY > Russia > By Period > 19th C.”  ).   At any level, underlined headings indicate the presence of subheadings, allowing you  to drill down another level.  The parenthetical number display after each heading shows two counts: the first is the number of titles classified under that heading; the second is the number of titles classified under that heading and its subheadings, i.e., a cumulative total for a section or subsection.  At any level of the classification, check the box next to the desired heading and click the “Show Heading Matches” to display the titles classified under that heading OR click the “Show All Matches” button to show all titles classified under that heading and all its subheadings. Results will be displayed in a Search Results page.
